SECURING A TOURIST VISA TO BRAZIL

Americans must have a visa to enter Brazil.  This is because of reciprocity (tit for tat)--- the United States requires that Brazilians have a visa to enter the USA.   Since ECHO will be spending some time in Brazil, all group members must have visas.  To obtain a visa, you must provide the following:

Passport  The Passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of first entry into Brazil, it
must  have one  blank visa page, and it must be submitted with the visa application.

Forms:   You must submit a signed visa application form with an original signature. Photocopies and faxes
(not on  thermofax paper) are acceptable.

   Photo:   One passport-quality photo.

Itinerary & Ticket  You must submit a computer-generated copy of your travel itinerary from a travel
    agency or an airline.

Fees  The consular fee for tourist visas is $55.  In addition, there is also a service fee of about $40-$50
charged by  the commercial service provider that will facilitate ECHO visa applications.

Visa Validity  You must enter within 90 days of the issuance of the visa to activate the visa.
