(Griffith University, Queensland, Australia reference page for teachers to visit and gather ideas for lessons in Social and Environment education. Each of the five categories listed contains their main objectives and lesson activities. these activities are fun, innovative and educational and are a good resource for all teachers.)

 
Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe.
(FEEE is a network of organizations in eighteen countries working to promote environmental education in Europe both by carrying out actual campaigns and by creating an awareness of the concept of environmental education.)

(A program of the C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation in India that set up to increase consciousness and knowledge about the environment and the major environmental problems facing India today. It conducts a variety of programmes to spread awareness and interest among the public, with the purpose of promoting conservation of nature and natural resources.)

 
European Environmental Education Newsletter.
(The Technical University of Hamburg in Germany maintains an electronic newsletter offering accessible and cheap means of communication and information exchange on a wide array of topics in the area of environmental education.).

 
International Centre for Conservation Education.
(A United Kingdom, ICCE supports environmental educators and resource managers around the world. The Centre's wide-ranging knowledge of environment and development issues, comprehensive understanding of communication techniques and first hand field experience combine to provide unique support for conservation activities in developing countries.)

 
Acid Rain 2000.
(A United Kingdom project in which school children across Europe monitor acid rain levels and make simple vegetation surveys.)

 
Nature Grid: Mapping Biodiversity across Europe.
(A project designed and implemented by Canterbury Environmental Education Centre in England.)

 
Eco Schools.
(A Europe-wide project for schools which is designed to encourage and acknowledge whole-school action for the environment. It was originated by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe which coordinates the project internationally where it is being developed in Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands and Spain, as well as the UK.)

 
Baltic Marine Environment Bibliography.
(A huge reference that covers bibliographic information on the Baltic Sea, i.e. all marine areas from the Gulfs of Finland and Bothnia in the east and north to the Belt Sea and Kattegat in the west. It contains references to reports including "grey terature", journal articles, books, conference proceedings, dissertations etc. The bibliography covers material from the year 1970, currently ca. 11 000 references.)

 
Global Environmental Information Locator Service.
(GELOS, developed by the Centre for Earth Observation, Directorate General JRC, European Commission, is part of the G7 Environment and Natural Resources Management project (G7-ENRM) whose main objective it is to create a globally distributed virtual library of ENRM data and resources. Entry and registration is free.)

 
Building Consensus for a Sustainable Future - Guiding Principles.
(An EXCELLENT online discussion from the Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management, University of New Brunswick, Canada, dealing with concepts of "sustainability" and "sustainable development.)

 
Baltic Environmental Education Network.
(BEENET objectives include: 1) increasing public awareness, changing human attitudes and behaviour, promoting sustainable development, and influencing the state of environment by means of education and training; 2) creating a network-based model of environmental education and training applicable anywhere in Europe; and 3) implementing a series of pilot projects thus creating the infrastructure for future cooperation on a long-term basis.)

 
Environmental Cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe.
(The Finnish Environment Institute, in cooperation with Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission (HELCOM), attempts to find out what various organizations and countries in the area could do to improve the awareness of environmental issues. The ultimate objective is a cleaner Baltic Sea in the future. The project is financed mainly by the European Commission.)

(United States Coast Guard Marine Safety and Environmental Protection website. Contains documents and other information of general interest to the maritime community.)

 
Environmental Protection Information Center.
(EPIC is a grassroots non-profit organization located in Garberville, California that's actively working to protect endangered species and forest ecosystems on California's North Coast.)

 
International Society for Environmental Protection.
(ISEP site provides environmental information management, networking, and applied research. Provides information on ISEP publications, projects, and conferences.)
