Data Collection and Graphing Activity
Select a date and time for students to stand on various corners in your community, for an agreed upon period of time, to collect data related to the modes of transportation seen.
Use Excel to graph data collected. Discuss which graphs are most appropriate to use for the information collected. Share graphs comparing data collected on various corners.
This activity can also be conducted by e-mail pals in other cities in the United States or in the world. The data and data displays can be shared as attachments to e-mail.
