Orientation in Miami.

ECHO participants from Idaho,Oregon, Kansas, and Pennsylvania met at the Miami Airport Doubletree for a night of orientation with Dr. Ralph Nelsen and Debbie Nyman of the Columbia Education Center.
Practical details such as visas and luggage, as well as philsophical issues including the purpose of this program in the post 9/11 world and in the wake of financial exigencies in many states, were disscussed.

Participants in ECHO 2002 gathered in Miami prior to departing for Paraguay.

Prior to leaving on the flight to Sao Paulo, ECHO 2002 participants relaxed in the TAM Airlines departuare area in the Miami airport. After Sao Paulo, they flew on to Asuncion and began their month's work in Paraguay.
