DAILY DIARY
August 6-7, 2002

August 6th was a day for each individual to see, by appointment, whomever or whatever they chose. Most people arranged to meet with a person, or visit a place, that would provide information about their chosen Web Guide topic. As we have only one digital camera and everyone went separate directions, it was impossible to record photographs of the day's activities.

August 7th was a free day for the group, but we elected to start it by visiting the office of Ruben Alvarenga, our host and guide during the first half of our tour through Paraguay. You may recall that Ruben is the International Cooperation Deputy Director at "Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores." We also met with his associate, Estela Armoa de Arévalos, who was interested to know our thoughts and feelings regarding our time in Paraguay which we enthusiastically shared with her.

Estela Armoa de Arévalos, Ruben Alarenga, and Dr. James Connett listen to the group share their feelings about Paraguay.

No trip is complete without a farewell dinner. It's a time to say our goodbyes and reflect on all that we have seen, done and shared together in beautiful Paraguay. Dr. Connett graciously hosted the event at his home. A good time was had by all!

ECHO Participants enjoyed chatting amongst themselves and with newly acquired Parguayan friends. And of course, eating!
