ECHO participants have the opportunity to earn graduate credit through the University of
Idaho. Course titles, descriptions, and tuition charges are shown below. Participants
may sign up for either or both of the courses below.

EDTE 505 Expanding Cultural and Historical Outlooks (2 semester hours, $130)
This course is a four-week workshop taking place in Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, and Serbia-Montenegro and will involve both research and study activities. The wokrshop will address three aspects of the Danube watershed region: 1) Environmental Landscapes; 2) Historical Landscape; and 3. Cultural Landscapes.  These three topics will be explored as independent and interrelated entities. 

EDTE 505  Curriculum for International Education (2 semester hours, $130)
Based on his/her overseas experiences, each participant will work with a  team to develop an Internet-based curriculum and materials package (Webguide) built around environmental, historical, and/or cultural themes.  The Webguide will include a sequence of teaching objectives, learner activities, evaluation techniques, and such mediated instructional support materials as Internet-based pictures, graphics, and journal articles, as well as recommended video tapes, artifacts, maps, and recommended reading lists. ECHO webguides will be disseminated nationally via the CEC website and websites of partner institutions.
